I had read the reviews but decided to stop in any way. They had six beers on tap none of which truly inspired. With a Red, Honey Brown, Oktoberfest, Brown Ale and Belgian Wheat on tap, the Light Amber Ale was actually the most tolerable. There simply wasn't the finish on the Oktoberfest or the Wheat or much flavor to the rest.

Worst beer in the Twin Cities. Sour, probably infected, and a real challenge to finish. Good Irish pub, but for God's sake, stay away from the beer they brew (unless you have a morbid curiosity like myself).

As the other reviews mention, the beer is not very good. I had the Brown Ale and the first sip was rather eye opening. A very sour, strange flavor hit me. Towards the middle of the glass I was able to tolerate it. I didn't want to waste a beer so I drank it. They have some imports/micros on tap, I suggest trying those instead. Nice neighborhood place.

The beer is terrible; you'd be better off drinking the urine of someone that has tipped a few good pints rather than the draught beer offered at this establishment. No lie.

Stick to the entertainment! Decent place to hang out although horribly laid out (big but cramped), but the beer is awful! I swear it's infected! At first I thought they were trying a flemish/sour slant, but the truth is-it's just bad. Catching a band in the garage CAN be fun though.

What does it tell you when you walk into a brewpub and all the regulars are drinking Grain Belt longnecks? This large sports bar and music hall had 4 house beers on tap. Brown Ale was awful, that was enough for me.

I went to school with Tim O'Gara, this bar has been in his family for a long time. It is a nice local tavern, but they should fire their brewmiester.

Having only had time to visit one brewpub in my short time in the Twin Cities, I regret that this was it. I was very disappointed in the beer quality and could have easily had better food and service any number of places. Very inexpensive, but that never makes up for poor beer.

I stopped in for the beer. All were weak tasting. It appeared to be a local hangout. Although it was clean, the interior was worn.

Although O Gara's increasingly seems to be appealing to a mass audience, it does lean heavily towards a local/regular crowd. In addition to the nightclub connected to the main bar which is known as O Gara's Garage, there is often fine music playing for free in the informal "Shamrock Room".

They have, on tap, about 6 of their beers, plus a number of other beers, a full bar and a full menu with American fare.
